Having difficulty in potty-training my puppy.?

He is about 6-9 weeks old and I've had him for almost a week or two. I've been trying to potty train him but he still uses the bathroom sometimes indoors. I always pop him on the nose and the butt when i see him do it then take him outside. I've made a schedule of his meals and that has helped quite a bit but he still potties inside. I make sure to praise him when he does go potty outside also. Does anyone know of any other method or trick I could use that would help or fasten up the process of potty-training my puppy? I'm tired of bringing out my carpet cleaner and washing his bed almost every day...
