Why did Frederick Douglass loathe liberal ideology?

Frederick Douglass understood what liberalism was,a slave master hiding behind fancy makeup,Dr king also understood Frederick Douglass hatred for liberalism.the democrat party hated Dr. King because he preached independence,self reliance,education,family values,and the love of god...when Dr. king was killed,the democrats swooped in,and declared themselves the protectors of black america,and look at what has happened to black america under democrat/liberal protection...Dr kings dream was destroyed by liberalism.....Frederick Douglass fear for his people realized,black americans have been made slaves again by the democrat/liberals.
